ONE, TWO, THREE... MORE!

We are preparing to launch the third of our numerically-titled community events. 'THREE' will take place on March 31st, just a week before Easter on the first saturday of the school Easter holidays. It will be very similar to the 'ONE' event which we ran at the corresponding time last year. More details will be posted here soon.

The Vision & History of 'ONE, TWO, THREE... MORE!'

In early 2011 a number of members of the church came together with a shared aim: To nurture a deeper focus within the church on reaching out to the wider community and especially families. The result of our initial prayer and discussion led us to the conclusion that God was challenging us not to just run occasional one-off hit-and-run style evangelistic events, but instead to seek to really build bridges to our community by a series of steps.

With this vision in mind, it was decided that we would simply call each event by the next number in sequence, starting with 'ONE'. They were therefore described as the 'ONE, TWO, THREE... MORE!' events!

In spring 2011, we took our first step with our 'ONE' Family Fun Day event. Not only did we run the event, but we also engaged in regular prayer walking on the streets near to the church, a process which has continued ever since as we have sought to prepare for our second event.

Then, last summer, we ran our second event, 'TWO'. This came as the culmination of a week of holiday club activities run in partnership with three other local churches at Harrowgate Hill Methodist Church. The details are on the flyer, the design of which you can see below:

  • Ulnaby Farm Cafe - for kind donation of a fantastic prize of afternoon tea.

  • Kath Cheadle, North Road Partnership and Friends of the Park - for all their kind advice, help and support.
  • Everyone who turned up to join us and making the day such a success we couldn't have done it without YOU!!!
